Monsoon Mushroom Company

Fresh-grown gourmet mushrooms, right here in the East Valley.

Our Story

Why mushrooms? Honestly, I ask myself that too some days.

Monsoon Mushroom Company started in a spare room of our Gilbert home, named for Arizona’s summer monsoon season, the storms that roll in and change the desert overnight. What began as a few bags of mushroom spawn has grown into a small, hands-on operation raising gourmet oyster, lion’s mane, and shiitake mushrooms, with plans to keep growing.

After more than a decade helping large organizations grow their people, a layoff pushed me to figure out what I actually wanted to grow next, and this is it.

I’m Kami Bachler, the founder (and, most days, the only employee) of Monsoon Mushroom Company. I still believe in growth. It just happens in mycelium blocks now instead of boardrooms.

What We Grow

Everything is grown fresh in small batches and harvested at its peak, never dried or shipped from far away.

Oyster Mushrooms

Pink, yellow, and pearl varieties, each with its own color and flavor. Delicate, quick to cook, and a great starting point if you’re new to cooking with mushrooms.

Lion’s Mane

Meaty and mild, with a texture that surprises people who haven’t tried it before. Also known for its brain-boosting properties, it’s one of our most requested varieties at the market.

Shiitake

A classic for good reason. Rich and earthy, grown fresh rather than dried, so the flavor is deeper than what you’ll find at most grocery stores.
